Crewly vs Claude Tag
Claude Tag is Anthropic's Claude in Slack: a team asks Claude in channels, and it works in a sandbox. It can fix bugs and open pull requests. Crewly doesn't write code. It sends an approved request to your coding agent and gives the pull request a receipt.
| Topic | Claude Tag | Crewly |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Claude in Slack channels and DMs. Each task runs in an ephemeral sandbox, not on your computer. Public beta. | A web desk for requests, approvals and receipts. Slack is optional. |
| Code work | Can reproduce a bug and open a draft pull request through the Claude GitHub App, and can post when a pull request's CI status changes. | Doesn't write code. Opens a GitHub issue for the agent you choose and reads the pull request it produces. Run end to end on Oct 19, 2026 with the Claude Code GitHub Action (non-Anthropic models via OpenRouter) and the Codex GitHub Action (an OpenAI model via OpenRouter). A Copilot template exists but is untested. |
| What "done" means | Set in your prompt. Anthropic's example prompt says done means CI is green. | A Playwright test approved with the scope and locked by hash. If the agent edits it, the receipt fails. |
| Test changes | We couldn't confirm a feature that flags deleted, skipped or weakened tests on Anthropic's public pages. | Flags deleted test files, added skips, fewer assertions and CI edits. A person decides. |
| Client-facing record | We couldn't confirm a client-facing report or share page on Anthropic's public pages. | A client receipt page you preview, publish, and can revoke. It lists what was not checked. |
| Plans and pricing | Team and Enterprise plans only (plan prices are public at claude.com/pricing). Channel work is billed by usage from an organization balance under a spend limit, with no per-seat charge. There is no published per-task cost; Anthropic suggests a pilot with a spend limit to learn what usage costs. | Free 14-day pilot, then $99 per client project a month. |
| Setup | Needs the Owner role and Routines turned on. Setup pairs the Slack workspace, optionally connects the Claude GitHub App, buys usage credits (a step shown only to Team or self-serve Enterprise orgs that pay by card in US dollars and have none), then a launch step adds Claude to channels. Not available with ZDR, CMEK or the HIPAA configuration. | Install Crewly's GitHub App on one repository and add one workflow file that runs the approved test. |
Claude Tag may fit better if
- Your team lives in Slack and wants Claude to pick up tasks there, including code fixes.
- You are on a Claude Team or Enterprise plan already.
Crewly may fit better if
- You need a record for a client, not only a green check for your team.
- You want the test approved before the agent starts, so the agent can't grade its own work.
